The Bradley Herald is the official publication for the FLEX Alumni Program – a platform that connects and celebrates alumni doing incredible things across the world. We started working with them back in 2018, and it turned out to be a five year journey.

The challenge

The challenge

When we first looked at their website, the problem was pretty obvious. The site just didn't feel right. For a platform carrying inspiring alumni stories from across the globe, the website itself was doing none of that justice. It was outdated, cluttered, and honestly a bit off-putting.

Navigation was confusing, finding past papers or alumni content took way more effort than it should have, and visitors simply weren't sticking around long enough to explore what the site actually had to offer. It was clear pretty early on – this needed more than a few small fixes. It needed a proper overhaul.

Our solution

Our solution

So that's exactly what we did. We started from scratch – tore down the old layout and rebuilt it in a way that actually made sense for their audience. We created a clean archive section where past papers and newsletters could be found without any hassle.

But the real highlight? The alumni stories. We made sure those personal journeys weren't buried somewhere in the site – they needed to be front and center where people could actually read them and connect with them.

Then came FLEX Appreciation Day, and that's where things got interesting. We implemented QR codes for the first time on the site, so alumni and visitors could scan and land straight on the page. Simple idea, but it changed how people accessed the content. Navigation got smoother, everything felt tighter, and the website finally started doing justice to the stories it was meant to showcase.
